Join a community of volunteers dedicated to supporting Stanley Park’s ecosystems, educating the broader community, and developing a deeper connection to the world around us. There are many ways to get involved—read on to find the right opportunity for you!

Why Volunteer?
Volunteering is a meaningful way to build a connection with the lands and waters of Stanley Park, which are the traditional, ancestral and unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. By getting involved, you can support ecological stewardship and environmental education.
Along the way, you'll receive training, develop new skills, and gain practical experience. Plus, enjoy twice-yearly appreciation events and earn a reference letter after 25 volunteer hours.
Gain confidence, knowledge, and hands-on experience that supports your personal, academic, and career goals. Volunteering helps build skills in leadership, communication, teamwork, and environmental stewardship.
Your contributions matter! Celebrate your efforts at our twice-yearly volunteer appreciation events and earn recognition awards. After 25 volunteer hours, you can request a reference letter to acknowledge your impact.
Receive program-specific training and opportunities to explore Stanley Park’s ecology, natural history, and conservation efforts. Learn directly from experienced environmental educators and be part of meaningful stewardship initiatives.

Recommended clothing and supplies varies depending on the volunteer program. As a volunteer, you will receive an email in advance of your shift or in advance of training, letting you know what to expect and what to prepare. Generally, we recommend wearing comfortable, closed-toe footwear and dressing for outdoor conditions, including layers. Stanley Park Ecology aims to address barriers in outdoor spaces by providing most of the equipment needed. If a warm or dry layer is a barrier for you, we may have extra layers on hand- feel free to contact us for more details.
Parking is available directly beside the Stanley Park Pavilion, and in many locations throughout Stanley Park. EasyPark manages all parking lots in Stanley Park, which has no affiliation with Stanley Park Ecology.
Due to this, we unfortunately are unable to offer free or subsidized parking to our volunteers. Find out more about accessing Stanley Park by transit, bike or on foot here.
Are you interested in contributing to our work in another way? Do you have an idea for a project, or skills you'd like to offer?
