Rwittika grew up in Southampton, England, and Calcutta, India, before moving to Vancouver on the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm territory to study Political Science and Economics at the University of British Columbia. With a background in the non‑profit sector focused on community engagement and event planning, she is particularly interested in climate justice frameworks and integrating them into mainstream knowledge production. Her academic and personal passions center on climate migration patterns and the socio‑political impacts of climate displacement. An avid storyteller, Rwittika uses humour and narrative to make complex topics more accessible. When she isn’t working on climate justice initiatives, she loves cooking, reading, swimming, dancing—and has recently taken up climbing. She is thrilled to join SPE and bring her passion for the outdoors to Stanley Park.
