IN-PERSON PROGRAM

Looking for a family event to spend time in nature this weekend? Come along to our Family Forest Field Trip nature walk, where we’ll explore the forest ecosystem and learn about the plants and animals who live there. Join us as we engage our senses and listen for the calls of nearby birds, feel the textures of the forest, and use magnifiers to get an up-close look at the hidden life around us. 

Children under 16 must be supervised by an adult (19+) for the duration of the program. The program is aimed at families with children approximately aged 5-12, but all ages are welcome.

PROGRAM DETAILS

Accessibility notes: 

• The closest washroom will be near the meeting location at the Stanley Park Pavilion, and there is no washroom along the walk route. Washroom: https://maps.app.goo.gl/MUMdUzAQxw9unrTb8 
• This program will meet at the Stanley Park Rose Garden, where the concrete paths converge. See meeting location here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/9meNexqLP46RGtgbA.  
• This program will move at a gentle to moderate pace with frequent stops, over mostly flat trails and packed gravel surfaces along South Creek Trail while occasionally venturing off-trail across uneven terrain. 
• The path to access South Creek Trail from the meeting point includes two small sets of stairs, but can easily be rerouted to avoid stairs if needed. 
• Please arrive 5-10 minutes early to sign in.

Terms and Conditions

(1) Registration required - NO DROP-INS ARE ALLOWED.  Fees for this program are based on a sliding scale – reduced fees are available for those with financial barriers. 

(2)  Cancellation policy  – We offer partial refunds for program fees up to 7 days before the program. A 20% administration fee applies. Cancellations with less than the required notice are non-refundable. We do not refund fees for late or missed programs. Please request a refund by emailing publiced@stanleyparkecology.ca. You may also choose to support our public education programming by donating your registration fee. 

(3) Weather – Our tours typically run rain or shine. Rarely, programs may be postponed or cancelled due extreme weather like high winds or extreme heat.  We will alert you by email if the program needs to be rescheduled. If the program cannot be rescheduled, refunds will be offered with a 20% administration fee or you may choose to transfer your ticket to another program of the same value.
