Frank Lin – Nature House Environmental Educator

Frank Lin has his roots in Taiwan and immigrated to Surrey with his family at a young age the late 1990s.  Since a young age he has had a keen interest in wildlife, in particular birds, as well as photography. Frank vividly remembers his first acquaintance with Stanley Park Ecology attending a grade 5 urban ecology camping trip and enjoying his time in the Park watching birds and other wildlife. He studied at SFU with a B.Sc. degree in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry and also has experience in the tourism and customer service sector. Frank became re-acquainted with Stanley Park Ecology as an outreach volunteer in 2018 during the International Ornithological Congress, and continued volunteering as a Nature House host before joining on staff as a Nature House environmental educator in 2022. Through the years Frank has actively participated in various SPE initiatives, including leading public interpretive bird walks and webinars as well as conducting monthly surveys with a team of volunteers. As a keen nature interpreter and advocate for community science, Frank seeks to share his passion for local wildlife and inspire park visitors from different backgrounds and mentoring a greater appreciation for nature through dynamic interpretive programs and community science initiatives. Aside from birding, Frank also enjoys land-based whale-watching, photography, illustrations, singing and music production.
