ONLINE PROGRAM
Charismatic and majestic, Pacific Great Blue Herons are some of the largest and most distinctive birds in North America. Through donors, stewardship, monitoring and education, Stanley Park Ecology helps support and sustain these incredible birds that have been nesting in Stanley Park for about 100 years! This time of year, the herons have left their nests and are heading to their nearby winter feeding grounds, and we can reflect on the summer they’ve all had. Join us for this webinar to learn about this unique urban colony with Urban Wildlife Programs Coordinator Rose Wilkin who will be discussing highlights from the 2025 heron season and exploring how this year compares to previous seasons here in the Park.

The land on which we gather is the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Musqueam (xʷməθkʷəy̓əm), Squamish (Skwxwú7mesh), and Tsleil-Waututh (səlilwətaɬ) Peoples. Their stewardship and respect for this land has carried forward for thousands of years long before settlers named it “Stanley Park”.
