Salma Bhaloo

Salma Bhaloo is a Fellow of the Chartered Professional Accountants. She holds a certificate in Public Policy from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from UBC. She shifted to governance after retiring as an executive in the federal public service to pursue her passion of advising on ESG and DEI, and to share her expertise in financial and internal control management.  A long term community volunteer, she recently chaired the World Partnership Walk Vancouver, an annual event to fundraise for alleviation of global poverty.  She holds an ICD.D designation, the highest designation granted by the Institute of Corporate Directors, and was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal in recognition of her service to Canadians. Salma immigrated to Canada from Kenya. She can be found walking the seawall, hiking the trails, or practising her new interests of playing golf and piano.
