Rwittika Banerjee – Camps and Clubs Coordinator
I grew up in Southampton, England and Calcutta, India. I moved to Vancouver on to the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm territory to study Political Science and Economics at the University of British Columbia. My background in the non-profit sector has focussed on community engagement and event planning. My area of interest lies in climate justice frameworks and incorporating them into mainstream knowledge production. Personally, I am interested in climate migration patterns and studying the socio-political impacts of Climate Displacement. My favourite forest in the world is the Sunderbans, the mangrove forests of Bengal. I use humour and storytelling as the most effective tools to make complex topics more accessible! I also love cooking, reading, swimming, dancing and have recently started climbing. I am thrilled to join SPES and share my passion for the outdoors at Stanley Park.
