Martin is a Professional Geoscientist of Ontario having a BSc Honours degree from the University of Melbourne, Australia, has a Project Management Professional background, and currently is an Associate with a global mining and environmental consulting group.
Martin has worked for over 40 years primarily in the corporate diamond industry in Australia, South Africa, Botswana, India, the People’s Republic of China, and Canada, from grassroots exploration through to mine Feasibility studies and Technical Services operations support. This included Indigenous, community and regulatory liaison, and working under ISO 14001 Environmental Management and ISO 18001 Occupational Health and Safety Management Standards systems.
Living in Vancouver since 2004 alongside the amazing plants and wildlife of Stanley Park, from 2017 Martin has enjoyed being a volunteer with Stanley Park Ecology’s Dedicated Invasive Removal Team (DIRT) and joined the Board in 2020.
