Julia Taylor – Public Environmental Education Coordinator

I'm originally from Portland, Oregon on traditional Chinook, Cowlitz, and Atfalati territories and moved to Vancouver on xʷməθkʷəy̓əm territory for my BSc at UBC, where I studied as an International Scholar in the Global Resource Systems program and specialized in ecology, biodiversity, and sustainable food systems. I used to work for the UBC Farm doing biodiversity monitoring surveys and science communication, and I love all things nature and the Pacific Northwest. Some of my interests ecologically include mushrooms, insects, native plants, intertidal organisms, and I'm learning more and more about our beautiful bryophytes (mosses, liverworts, etc)! I love to bake, read, play with my cat, listen to podcasts, poke around outside, and I recently began to try my hand at felting and embroidery (mostly little critters).
