SUMMARY:Zero Waste Walk - West End
DESCRIPTION:Get Tickets\n Problems using the ticket form below? You can also get tickets here. \n SPES uses the Zeffy platform to process payments\, so your entire purchase goes to us. If you’d like to help Zeffy keep running its services\, you can choose to tip them. If you don’t want to\, choose “Other” in the drop-down menu and then enter $0. \n\n\n\n \n \n \n\n\n\n\nIN-PERSON PROGRAM \n\n\n\nExplore your favourite neighbourhood with a twist! Join us for a walk through the West End to explore local stores where you can shop and eat sustainably while saving money. We will showcase zero waste and sustainable options in the West End/downtown. This is a ticketed volunteer-led event with all proceeds going to SPES and to participating stores and locations to pay for nominal expenses of the tour\, ie. samples or products. \n\n\n\nAt each stop\, we will have a brief snapshot of the why and how of the business to understand better how they are contributing to decreasing food/clothing/packaging waste. At each store\, we will chat to the owner\, sample products and explore the zero-waste options\, for example how container drop-off works. \n\n\n\nThere will be snacks along the tour (included) and we will receive discount vouchers at various stores. Bring a reusable cup and one or more small refillable containers to sample soap or similar products. \n\n\n\nThe itinerary will be: \n\n\n\n\nRefill Road (zero-waste refillery)  \n\n\n\nWild Life Thrift store (clothing reseller)  \n\n\n\nThe Only (clothing reseller)  \n\n\n\nCropthorne Farm (local organic farm – CSA box)  \n\n\n\nMatchstick cafe (Reusables drop-off location) \n\n\n\n\nLEADER BIO \n\n\n\nCatarina lives in the West End and has been a happy long-term volunteer with SPES. She says that pulling ivy on a Saturday morning is the best after a long week of Zoom meetings! She is passionate about reducing waste through sharing and smart shopping. Among other things\, she sits on the steering committee for the Share Reuse Repair Initiative. \n\n\n\nPROGRAM DETAILS \n\n\n\nAccessibility notes: This program requires moving at a moderate pace on the street and crossing busy roads.
