If you don’t want to\, choose “Other” in the drop-down menu and then enter $0. \n\n\n\n  \n    \n  \n\n\n\n\nIN-PERSON FAMILY PROGRAM \n\n\n\nCalling all young birders! Join us in Stanley Park alongside other families and experts for the “Christmas Bird Count”\, Birds Canada’s popular annual winter bird survey event.  This event is for all children\, no matter what you celebrate this time of year! After a quick introduction to bird identification where you’ll learn to tell your kinglets from kingfishers\, we will split into groups and head to the forest and foreshore for a 45-minute bird counting adventure. All your hard work will be celebrated when we regroup at the Nature House on Lost Lagoon to share findings. This program is a collaboration of efforts and volunteers from Birds Canada\, Nature Kids BC\, and Stanley Park Ecology Society. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nSchedule \n\n\n\n10:00am at Stanley Park Pavilion (2nd floor) : Sign in\, introduction to bird identification\, splitting into groups with bird expert leaders\, getting binoculars and data sheets. \n\n\n\n10:30am : Go into the Park and explore birds! \n\n\n\n12:00pm : Meet at the Nature House on Lost Lagoon to enjoy warm drinks and hear the results of our beautiful bird count! \n\n\n\n12:45-1:00pm: Event ends. \n\n\n\n        \n\n\n\nPROGRAM DETAILS      \n\n\n\nAccessibility notes: This program is meeting in our office on the second floor of the Stanley Park Pavilion\, which is currently only accessible by stairs. If you have any questions about accessibility\, please email Anna at publiced@stanleyparkecology.ca    Participants will be going to Beaver Lake\, Lost Lagoon and the surrounding areas on varying slopes and surfaces. This program will end in Lost Lagoon. \n\n\n\n      \n\n\n\nThis program will be held at the SPES office in the Stanley Park Dining Pavilion on the second floor (located between the Stanley Park Rose Garden and the Bus Loop). Please arrive 5 minutes early to complete a health check.   (1) (2) (3) (4) (5)       \n\n\n\n    \n\n\n\n Terms and conditions   \n\n\n\n(1) Registration required – NO DROP-INS ARE ALLOWED.  Fees for this program are based on a sliding scale – you choose what you pay!   \n\n\n\n(2) Weather dependent – Please check your email 12 hours before the program date and time to confirm it has not been cancelled due to inclement weather such as high winds\, heavy rain\, or extreme heat.    \n\n\n\n(3) Program Availability – Program full or you cannot attend this day or time?  Sign up here to be notified when the program runs in the future.   \n\n\n\n(4) Cancellation policy – We refund cancellations due to illness to keep everyone healthy\, but the number of recent cancellations is impacting our capacity to run these programs. If you must cancel\, please let us know if you need a refund or if you are able to help us offer affordable programs for the public by donating your registration fee.
