DESCRIPTION
As sunset approaches in Stanley Park each day, the wetland ecosystems awake with activity. Join this guided evening tour to learn about the history, ecology, and twilight wildlife of Beaver Lake! Led by an Educator from Stanley Park Ecology, we’ll keep our senses tuned to the signs of wildlife – listening for the croaks of frogs, the buzz of dragonflies, and calls of wetland birds. With any luck, the bats and beavers will emerge for an evening of feeding at the lake. Space is limited to 20 participants.

- From downtown:
- Take the #19 bus from Pender St. all the way until the last stop, or
- Take one of the #200 busses (240, 250, etc.) and get off at Denman St., then either take the #19 from that same bus stop, or walk uphill to the Stanley Park bus loop (~15 minutes, 1km)

Route and Accessibility: This program will travel down the Pipeline Road sidewalk to Tisdall Walk, around Beaver Lake Trail, then back on a 1.5-2 km route (depending on the group and wildlife sightings). Beaver Lake is downhill from the meeting location, on a mostly gentle decline on pavement and gravel. Tisdall Walk and Beaver Lake Trail are gravel trails, with a concrete culvert at Beaver Lake that has a ~4cm lip that could potentially be challenging to cross with a wheeled mobility device, but assistance is available if desired. Terms and Conditions
(1) Registration recommended. If not already full, drop-ins are accepted until capacity is reached. Register ahead of time for a discounted rate!
(2) Cancellation policy – We offer partial refunds for program fees up to 7 days before the program. A 20% administration fee applies. Cancellations with less than the required notice are non-refundable. We do not refund fees for late or missed programs. Please request a refund by emailing publiced@stanleyparkecology.ca. You may also choose to support our public education programming by donating your registration fee.
(3) Weather – Our tours typically run rain or shine. Rarely, programs may be postponed or cancelled due extreme weather like high winds or extreme heat. We will alert you by email if the program needs to be cancelled., Participants of programs cancelled by Stanley Park Ecology will be offered a new program date or a full refund will be provided.
