SUMMARY:The Story of Birds with Talaysay Tours (In-person)
DESCRIPTION:Get Tickets\n Problems using the ticket form below? You can also get tickets here. \n SPES uses the Zeffy platform to process payments\, so your entire purchase goes to us. If you’d like to help Zeffy keep running its services\, you can choose to tip them. If you don’t want to\, choose “Other” in the drop-down menu and then enter $0. \n\n\n\n \n \n \n\n\n\n\nIN-PERSON PROGRAM  \n\n\n\nAcross all lands\, waters\, skies and cultures\, birds captivate hearts and minds. We are so excited to have Talaysay Tours leading a walk on this land commonly known as Stanley Park\, and sharing Indigenous science and Coast Salish stories tied to the significance of bird species found in this area. Join a Talaysay Tours Cultural Ambassador to learn to identify local birds and to gain insight into their stories and significance.   \n\n\n\nWe are proud to include this program in our Vancouver Bird Celebration events. Check out our other free events from May 14 to May 29 and get excited about birds with us!  \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nABOUT TALAYSAY TOURS  \n\n\n\nTalaysay Tours\, owned by Candace and Larry Campo of the Shíshálh (Sechelt) and Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) First Nation\, offers you an enriched cultural outdoor experience. We are experts of the Salish Sea & Northwest Coast. Our goal is to provide our clients with unique outdoor cultural tours that promote wellness and memorable experiences that will last a lifetime. Many of our tours are family and kid friendly and require no previous outdoor experience.   \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nThis program will meet at the Stanley Park Bus Loop\, by the gazebo (located between the Stanley Park Railway parking lot and the Stanley Park Pavilion). Please arrive 15 minutes early to complete a health check \n\n\n\nMasks are strongly suggested for this outdoor program. \n\n\n\n   \n\n\n\nAccessibility note: This program involves moving on pavement\, gravel and uneven surfaces of moderate inclines\, for up to 1.5 hours. If you have any questions about accessibility\, please email Anna at publiced@stanleyparkecology.ca.    \n\n\n\n   \n\n\n\n***This program is weather dependent.  Please check your email 12 hours before the program date/time to confirm it has not been cancelled due to inclement weather such as high winds\, heavy rain or extreme heat. Please dress appropriately for the weather.  \n\n\n\n   \n\n\n\n   \n\n\n\n*By purchasing a ticket\, you are agreeing to complete the following health check at the start of your program.   \n\n\n\n    \n\n\n\n**All participants must pre-register for this program – NO DROP-INS ARE ALLOWED.  Fees for this program are based on a sliding scale – you choose what you pay!        \n\n\n\n    \n\n\n\n****Program full or you can’t attend this day/time?  Sign up here to be notified if this program runs again in the future!          \n\n\n\n        \n\n\n\n*****Cancellation policy – We are accommodating refunds for cancellations due to illness to keep everyone healthy\, but the number of recent cancellations is impacting our capacity to run these programs. If you must cancel\, please let us know if you need a refund or if you are able to help us offer affordable programs for the public (we will continue to seek ways of subsidizing programs in this changing economic climate as well!)          \n\n\n\n        \n\n\n\nWe gratefully acknowledge that the land on which we gather and help steward is the unceded and traditional territories of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam)\, Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish) Nation\, and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nation. Since time immemorial\, Coast Salish peoples have lived reciprocally with the land\, harvesting and cultivating foods and medicines and practicing ceremony. The abundance of these lands and waters\, which enables us to live\, work\, and play here today\, is a result of the past and on-going stewardship and advocacy of the Coast Salish peoples.
