You can also register here. \n\n\n\n  \n    \n  \n\n\n\n\nIN-PERSON PROGRAM \n\n\n\nCoast Salish peoples have shared a profound and enduring connection with the Salish Sea for thousands of years\, a relationship that has shaped a beautiful culture\, identity\, and way of life. By highlighting and embracing these Indigenous values\, knowledge\, and practices\, we welcome a more resilient path forward in environmental stewardship\, climate resilience\, and reconciliation. \n\n\n\nHosted by Talaysay Tours\, this experience highlights the key concepts of: \n\n\n\n\nStewardship of land & oceans through action & accountability\n\n\n\nExploration of seaweeds & seagrasses\n\n\n\nStories of marine life and their interconnections\n\n\n\nHistory of the Coast Salish Peoples and their relationship to the ocean\n\n\n\nIndigenous science & advocacy for Indigenous rights\n\n\n\nEnvironmental impact\, sustainability\, and collective responsibility\n\n\n\nWellbeing\, health benefits\, medicinal properties\, and community connection\n\n\n\n\nThis event is reserved specifically for BIPOC individuals\, in order to provide a safe and inclusive space to explore nature. \n\n\n\nThis program was made possible through the financial support of the Canadian Race Relations Foundation’s National Anti-Racism Fund. \n\n\n\nLEADER BIO \n\n\n\nUPDATE – There has been a change to the line-up of Cultural Land Ambassadors\, and we will now be led by the wonderful Candace (xets’emits’a) and Talaysay Campo\, the two co-owners of Talaysay Tours. \n\n\n\nPROGRAM DETAILS \n\n\n\nAccessibility notes: This program will go along the seawall and beach path\, which includes going down onto the beach if the tide is low. This portion may not be accessible if using mobility aids. If you have any questions or input about accessibility\, please email  publiced@stanleyparkecology.ca    \n\n\n\nThis program will meet at the Stanley Park Information Booth near the seawall\, and proceed along the seawall and beach\, then end back at the Information Booth. Please arrive 15 minutes early to sign in.   \n\n\n\nTerms and Conditions \n\n\n\n(1) Registration required - NO DROP-INS ARE ALLOWED.  This program is free! If you register and no longer can make it\, please email us at publiced@stanleyparkecology.ca so we can offer the space to another participant. \n\n\n\n(2) Weather – Our tours typically run rain or shine. Rarely\, programs may be postponed or cancelled due extreme weather like high winds or extreme heat.  We will alert you by email if the program needs to be rescheduled.  \n\n\n\nThe land on which we gather is the traditional\, ancestral\, and unceded territory of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam)\, Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish)\, and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Peoples. Their stewardship and respect for this land has carried forward for thousands of years long before settlers named it “Stanley Park”.
