If you don’t want to\, choose “Other” in the drop-down menu and then enter $0. \n\n\n\n  \n    \n  \n\n\n\n\nIN-PERSON PROGRAM  \n\n\n\nDid you know that every spring\, Pacific great blue herons take to over 100 nests to raise their young? And all at the intersection of Stanley Park and Downtown Vancouver? Don’t believe us? See for yourself! Join SPES staff for a special site visit to the Stanley Park heron rookery and learn all about how these beautiful and large birds navigate the canopy\, build their nests\, and raise their fledglings. You’ll also discover how Stanley Park Ecology Society stewards and supports the heron colony by protecting them from predators and monitoring their success in summer surveys. This is part of our annual series\, “The Herons are Here”!  \n\n\n\nPROGRAM DETAILS \n\n\n\nAccessibility note: This program requires moving on gravel\, grass\, and uneven pavement from the Nature House on Lost Lagoon\, to the Stanley Park Great Blue Heron rookery (near the tennis courts and Stanley Park Brewing). Once there\, we won’t be moving around much. If you have any questions about the accessibility of this program\, please email Julia at publiced@stanleyparkecology.ca.  \n\n\n\nThis program will meet at the Nature House on Lost Lagoon (located underneath the Lost Lagoon viewing platform near the intersection of Chilco and Alberni Streets). Please try to arrive 10 minutes in advance of the program.  \n\n\n\nTerms and Conditions \n\n\n\n(1) Registration required - NO DROP-INS ARE ALLOWED.  Fees for this program are based on a sliding scale – reduced fees are available for those with financial barriers.  \n\n\n\n(2)  Cancellation policy  – We offer partial refunds for program fees up to 7 days before the program. A 20% administration fee applies. Cancellations with less than the required notice are non-refundable. We do not refund fees for late or missed programs. Please request a refund by emailing publiced@stanleyparkecology.ca. You may also choose to support our public education programming by donating your registration fee.  \n\n\n\n(3) Weather – Our tours typically run rain or shine. Rarely\, programs may be postponed or cancelled due extreme weather like high winds or extreme heat.  We will alert you by email if the program needs to be rescheduled. If the program cannot be rescheduled\, refunds will be offered with a 20% administration fee or you may choose to transfer your ticket to another program of the same value.   \n\n\n\n(4) Program Availability – Program full or you cannot attend this day or time?   Sign up here to be notified when the program runs in the future. We also have a monthly events newsletter that you can subscribe to here. \n\n\n\n            \n\n\n\nThe land on which we gather is the traditional\, ancestral\, and unceded territory of the Musqueam (xʷməθkʷəy̓əm)\, Squamish (Skwxwú7mesh)\, and Tsleil-Waututh (səlilwətaɬ) Peoples. Their stewardship and respect for this land has carried forward for thousands of years long before settlers named it “Stanley Park”.
