If you don’t want to\, choose “Other” in the drop-down menu and then enter $0. \n\n\n\n  \n    \n  \n\n\n\n\nCelebrate Earth Day at Stanley Park! \n\n\n\nThis April\, join us for a day of nature education and connecting with local ecosystems in Stanley Park! During the event day\, check out our themed nature walks\, educational information booths\, raffle prizes\, and hands-on activities to learn more about our planet and commit to taking action for the Earth. There will be a land welcome to officially open the event\, delivered by Talaysay Campo of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) and Shíshálh (Sechelt) Nations from Talaysay Tours. Sign up above for event reminders but also drop by the event hub and outreach tables any time during the event day\, and see the event schedule below for a few activities that you can register for ahead of time! \n\n\n\nWhile Earth Day is on April 22\, we’ll come together on April 18 to celebrate. Join us to take part in the event activities: \n\n\n\n\n Land Welcome from Talaysay Campo\n\n\n\n Forest trees and plant walk!\n\n\n\n Intertidal wonder exploration!\n\n\n\n Talaysay Tours Love the Land walk!\n\n\n\n Family-friendly activities!\n\n\n\n Raffle prizes!\n\n\n\n…and more!\n\n\n\n\nWe’ll be joined by our friends at Talaysay Tours\, Invasive Species Council of Metro Vancouver\, RAVEN Trust\, Vancouver Aquarium\, and the BC Community Bat Program! \n\n\n\nLocation: X̱wáýx̱way / Lumberman’s Arch across from the Spray Park \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nSchedule: \n\n\n\nCheck back as we continue to update registration links for the event’s activities! \n\n\n\n10:30 am – Tabling and Outreach (until 4:00 pm) \n\n\n\nCheck out our outreach tables and activities\, with representatives from Stanley Park Ecology\, Talaysay Tours\, RAVEN Trust\, the BC Community Bat Program\, the Invasive Species Council of Metro Vancouver (until 2:30 pm)\,and Vancouver Aquarium (12:30 – 2:30 pm). The event hub will include a raffle prize competition\, snacks and refreshments thank\, educational activities related to Stanley Park’s wildlife and habitats\, children’s colouring\, and merchandise like totes\, stickers\, and more to purchase in support of Stanley Park Ecology’s and Talaysay Tours’ programming. \n\n\n\n11:00 am – Event Opening and Land Welcome – No registration required! \n\n\n\nJoin us for the official Event Opening to start the day’s events\, with a Land Welcome delivered by Talaysay Campo of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) and Shíshálh (Sechelt) Nations from Talaysay Tours.  \n\n\n\n11:30 am – 12:45 pm – Forest Family Nature Walk – Pre-registration full\, some drop-in spots available day-of! \n\n\n\nJoin our Family Forest Nature Walk\, where we’ll explore the forest ecosystem and learn about the plants and animals who live there! Come along as we engage our senses and listen for the calls of nearby birds\, feel the textures of the forest\, and use magnifiers to get an up-close look at the hidden life around us.  \n\n\n\nSign up: https://stanleyparkecology.ca/event/earth-day-family-forest-walk/  \n\n\n\n12:30 – 1:30 pm – Intertidal Wander – Drop-In! \n\n\n\nEnjoy the low tide this Earth Day with our friends at the Vancouver Aquarium! We will come together for a casual exploration of the intertidal ecosystem\, with educators available to answer questions\, provide field guides\, and offer tips for spotting creatures. Feel free to come for some or all of this outing and look out for crabs\, seaweeds\, sea stars\, mussels\, and more!  \n\n\n\n2:00 – 3:30 pm – Love the Land Walk – Talaysay Tours – Register ahead of time! \n\n\n\nJoin Talaysay Tours for their Love the Land walk: “Love the Land is an invitation to slow down\, observe\, and reconnect. Guided by Indigenous teachings\, these tours explore local landscapes through story\, ecology\, and the relationships that tie people to place. Whether forest\, shoreline\, or mountain trail\, each outing highlights the beauty\, resilience\, and cultural significance of the lands we walk together.” (Pre-registration required) \n\n\n\n2:30 – 3:30 pm – Trees and Forest Plant Walk – Register ahead of time\, limited drop-in spots available day-of! \n\n\n\nAs you wander the trails of our coastal forests\, do you recognize the plants around you? Their work includes community outreach\, education\, and development of best management practice guides. \n\n\n\nVancouver Aquarium: The Vancouver Aquarium is not only Canada’s largest aquarium\, but a global leader in ocean conservation\, animal care\, and marine science. For more than six decades\, we’ve connected people of all ages with the wonders of the ocean—through immersive exhibits\, up-close animal experiences\, and engaging education programs. Every visit supports groundbreaking research and vital conservation efforts\, helping to protect ocean life and empower future generations to care for our blue planet. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nThe land on which we gather is the traditional\, ancestral\, and unceded territory of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam)\, Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish)\, and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Peoples. Their stewardship and respect for this land has carried forward for thousands of years long before settlers named it “Stanley Park”.
