IN-PERSON WORKSHOP

Searching for a hands-on craft this cozy winter season? Join us for this workshop to channel your creativity into hand-binding your very own nature journal, perfect for recording your outdoor reflections, species observations, sketches, or whatever you’d like! We’ll go through each step of the process of hand-stitching the journal together, with many options of paper and embellishments to choose from along the way and with lots of time for decorating. A variety of supplies will be provided, but also feel free to bring along your own paper, stickers, recycled paper bags, etc. to add to your journal if you desire!

FOLLOW-UP SESSION (OPTIONAL)

We’ll be hosting a reflective nature walk on February 8th, Forest Journaling and Tea: Mindful Nature in Stanley Park, as a way to make good use of these journals. On that outing, we’ll stroll through the Park and take moments to pause, observe, and connect with the sights and sounds around us, then come back inside for some tea.

We’ll explore many ways to use our journals — whether you’d like to create drawings and descriptions of the species we identify together, write poems inspired by the forest, or take part in some simple and mindful journal exercises to get the most out of the time you spend outside.

Tickets for both programs will be purchased separately.

The land on which we gather is the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Musqueam (xʷməθkʷəy̓əm), Squamish (Skwxwú7mesh), and Tsleil-Waututh (səlilwətaɬ) Peoples. Their stewardship and respect for this land has carried forward for thousands of years long before settlers named it “Stanley Park”.
