SUMMARY:Meet the Mosses (In-person)
DESCRIPTION:Get Tickets\n Problems using the ticket form below? You can also get tickets here. \n SPES uses the Zeffy platform to process payments\, so your entire purchase goes to us. If you’d like to help Zeffy keep running its services\, you can choose to tip them. If you don’t want to\, choose “Other” in the drop-down menu and then enter $0. \n\n\n\n \n \n \n\n\n\n\nIN-PERSON WALK       \n\n\n\nFrom the forest floor to the tallest tree\, mosses of impressive diversity cover our local forest ecosystems. Take a relaxed and introductory look at these brilliant bryophytes with moss specialist Dr. Terry McIntosh – someone who loves sharing his expertise with those keen to learn more about marvelous moss. Come on out and join us in the Park\, borrow one of our hand lenses\, and get up close and personal with this ancient plant group!   \n\n\n\nThis program will meet at the Stanley Park Rose Garden\, under the white archways (right along Pipeline Road). We will be visiting South Creek Trail. Please try to arrive at least 15 minutes in advance of the program.       \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n  Masks are currently mandatory for BOTH indoor and outdoor programs. If you are unable to wear a mask for medical reasons\, please inform Anna at publiced@stanleyparkecology.ca.  \n\n\n\n*By purchasing a ticket\, you are confirming you have read\, understood\, and agree to follow all COVID-19 protocols found  here.  Participants must include a telephone number and email address for contact tracing.    \n\n\n\n**All participants must pre-register for this program – NO DROP-INS ARE ALLOWED.   \n\n\n\n***This program is weather dependent.  Please check your email 12 hours before the program date/time to confirm it has not been cancelled due to inclement weather such as high winds\, heavy rain or extreme heat.     \n\n\n\n****Program full or you can’t attend this day/time?  Sign up here to be notified if this program runs again in the future!     \n\n\n\n*****Cancellation policy – We are aiming to be accommodating for refunds due to sickness to keep everyone healthy\, but the number of recent cancellations is impacting our capacity to run these programs. If you must cancel\, please let us know if you need a refund or if you are able to help us offer affordable programs for the public (we will continue to seek ways of subsidizing programs in this changing economic climate as well!)    \n\n\n\nWe gratefully acknowledge that the land on which we gather and help steward is the unceded and traditional territories of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam)\, Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish) Nation\, and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nation. Since time immemorial\, Coast Salish peoples have lived reciprocally with the land\, harvesting and cultivating foods and medicines and practicing ceremony. The abundance of these lands and waters\, which enables us to live\, work\, and play here today\, is a result of the past and on-going stewardship and advocacy of the Coast Salish peoples.
