Led by environmental professional and artist Isabel Gasior\, and perfect for beginners\, this session will guide you through simple shapes\, basic shading\, and the key parts of a bird—like the beak\, wings\, and feathers. By the end\, you’ll have your own bird sketch and a solid foundation in pencil drawing techniques.  \n\n\n\nMaterials needed: Paper and pencil. \n\n\n\nThis event is part of the Greater Vancouver Bird Celebration!  \n\n\n\nLEADER BIO \n\n\n\nIsabel Gasior has been passionate about birding since 2013\, when her studies sparked an interest in bird species. She spent five years working in invasive plant management\, where she combined her plant identification skills with art to create scientific illustrations. Now working as an Environmental Coordinator\, she continues to illustrate plants and wildlife in her spare time\, using art to highlight the subtle details needed for species identification. \n\n\n\nABOUT THE GREATER VANCOUVER BIRD CELEBRATION  \n\n\n\nGet more familiar with the birds around us during the Greater Vancouver Bird Celebration! Organized by a collection of non-profits\, artists\, and other institutions\, the Celebration is a two-week series of events to appreciate the bird species of Greater Vancouver. Events are open to all and many are free\, with programs including bird-related workshops\, walks\, talks\, exhibitions\, and lectures. Their stewardship and respect for this land has carried forward for thousands of years long before settlers named it “Stanley Park”. \n\n\n\n
