SUMMARY:Green Crabs and Other Intertidal Creatures (In-person)
DESCRIPTION:Get Tickets\n Problems using the ticket form below? You can also get tickets here. \n SPES uses the Zeffy platform to process payments\, so your entire purchase goes to us. If you’d like to help Zeffy keep running its services\, you can choose to tip them. If you don’t want to\, choose “Other” in the drop-down menu and then enter $0. \n\n\n\n \n \n \n\n\n\n\nIN-PERSON PROGRAM    \n\n\n\nJoin us for an intertidal walk with Ocean Wise! Learn about the many creatures that call Stanley Park tide pools home and help us monitor for invasive European Green Crab. Green Crabs have started popping up in the Pacific Northwest and are a threat to native species. An Ocean Wise educator will teach you how to identify the different species of native crabs\, monitor for green crabs and what to do if you find one.  \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nPROGRAM DETAILS   \n\n\n\nAccessibility note: We will be moving on some uneven surfaces with moderate inclines around Lost Lagoon for up to 1.5 hours. If you have any questions about accessibility\, please email Anna at publiced@stanleyparkecology.ca.   \n\n\n\n   \n\n\n\nThis program will meet at Lumberman’s Arch (by the waterpark and public washrooms north of the Vancouver Aquarium). Please arrive 15 minutes early to complete a health check.   (1) (2) (3) (4) (5)   \n\n\n\n     \n\n\n\n   \n\n\n\n Terms and conditions   \n\n\n\n   \n\n\n\n(1) COVID-19 protocols – By purchasing a ticket\, you are confirming you agree to filling out this health check on the day of your program.   \n\n\n\n     \n\n\n\n(2) Registration required – NO DROP-INS ARE ALLOWED.  Fees for this program are based on a sliding scale – you choose what you pay!   \n\n\n\n     \n\n\n\n(3) Weather dependent – Please check your email 12 hours before the program date and time to confirm it has not been cancelled due to inclement weather such as high winds\, heavy rain\, or extreme heat.   \n\n\n\n         \n\n\n\n(4) Program Availability – Program full or you cannot attend this day or time? Sign up here to be notified when the program runs in the future.   \n\n\n\n   \n\n\n\n   \n\n\n\n(5) Cancellation policy – We refund cancellations due to illness to keep everyone healthy\, but the number of recent cancellations is impacting our capacity to run these programs. If you must cancel\, please let us know if you need a refund or if you are able to help us offer affordable programs for the public by donating your registration fee. (This is one way we can all subsidize programs in this changing economic climate and ensure these programs are available on a sliding scale.)       \n\n\n\n   \n\n\n\nWe gratefully acknowledge that the land on which we gather and help steward is the unceded and traditional territories of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam)\, Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish) Nation\, and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nation. Since time immemorial\, Coast Salish peoples have lived reciprocally with the land\, harvesting and cultivating foods and medicines and practicing ceremony. The abundance of these lands and waters\, which enables us to live\, work\, and play here today\, is a result of the past and on-going stewardship and advocacy of the Coast Salish peoples.
