The art of needle felting is simple: take some wool\, a needle\, and a bit of patience and creativity to make your very own unique creation. This month\, we are making cute leaf ornaments while getting inspired by the many beautiful\, unique shapes of local plant leaves. These ornaments are perfect to hang at home\, in your car\, or even on another plant! Participants must register by July 17 to reserve a felting kit (all supplies included with your ticket purchase). Felting needles are sharp\, recommended for ages 12+.    \n\n\n\n    \n\n\n\nABOUT PROGRAM LEADER    \n\n\n\nAnna Bondartchouk is the Public Environmental Education Coordinator at Stanley Park Ecology Society. She tried out felting in 2021 and was immediately hooked on the idea of making her own toys and creations with such a simple method. Anna enjoys sharing this fun craft with her friends and family. You can follow her felting fun on Instagram (@bluepuppyfelting).    \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nPROGRAM DETAILS       \n\n\n\nAccessibility notes: This program is located in our office on the second floor of the Stanley Park Pavilion\, which is currently only accessible by stairs. If you have any questions about accessibility\, please email Anna at publiced@stanleyparkecology.ca       \n\n\n\n       \n\n\n\nThis program will be held at the SPES office in the Stanley Park Dining Pavilion on the second floor (located between the Stanley Park Rose Garden and the Bus Loop).  (1) (2) (3) (4)  \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nTerms and conditions        \n\n\n\n(1) Registration required - NO DROP-INS ARE ALLOWED.  Fees for this program are based on a sliding scale – you choose what you pay!       \n\n\n\n    \n\n\n\n(2) Weather dependent - Please check your email 12 hours before the program date and time to confirm it has not been cancelled due to inclement weather such as high winds\, heavy rain\, or extreme heat.       \n\n\n\n             \n\n\n\n(3) Program Availability – Program full or you cannot attend this day or time?   Sign up here to be notified when the program runs in the future.      \n\n\n\n       \n\n\n\n(4) Cancellation policy – We refund cancellations due to illness to keep everyone healthy\, but the number of recent cancellations is impacting our capacity to run these programs. If you must cancel\, please let us know if you need a refund or if you are able to help us offer affordable programs for the public by donating your registration fee. (This is one way we can all subsidize programs in this changing economic climate and ensure these programs are available on a sliding scale.)           \n\n\n\n       \n\n\n\nWe gratefully acknowledge that the land on which we gather and help steward is the unceded and traditional territories of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam)\, Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish) Nation\, and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nation. Since time immemorial\, Coast Salish peoples have lived reciprocally with the land\, harvesting and cultivating foods and medicines and practicing ceremony. The abundance of these lands and waters\, which enables us to live\, work\, and play here today\, is a result of the past and on-going stewardship and advocacy of the Coast Salish peoples.
