IN-PERSON PROGRAM
Have you heard the beautiful giggle-like call of the bald eagles in Stanley Park? Mating pairs of bald eagles have returned to their nests and have been delighting us with their social vocalizations and impressive courtship displays. Come join SPES Educator Anna Bondartchouk for a look at two of the eagle nests found in the Park, witness how bald eagles are caring for their fledglings, and learn how Stanley Park Ecology Society monitors nest success.
Can’t make this date? Check out our session on June 20!
ABOUT “EYES ON EAGLES” SERIES
Bald eagles are beautiful birds of prey that are both important to coastal and forest ecosystems, as well as an important animal in many cultures. Here, on Coast Salish land and waters, these birds build impressive nests that they care for year after year. They are truly amazing animals that hold our respect and appreciation. Stanley Park Ecology Society monitors nest activity and fledgling success in Stanley Park. Join us for “Eyes on Eagles” to learn about the unique lives of these incredible birds, from their courtship and raising eaglets, to young eagles leaving the nest and soaring into their own lives.

We gratefully acknowledge that the land on which we gather and help steward is the unceded and traditional territories of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish) Nation, and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nation. Since time immemorial, Coast Salish peoples have lived reciprocally with the land, harvesting and cultivating foods and medicines and practicing ceremony. The abundance of these lands and waters, which enables us to live, work, and play here today, is a result of the past and on-going stewardship and advocacy of the Coast Salish peoples.
