SUMMARY:Birds of a Feather: Migratory May (In-person)
DESCRIPTION:Get Tickets\n Problems using the ticket form below? You can also get tickets here. \n SPES uses the Zeffy platform to process payments\, so your entire purchase goes to us. If you don’t want to\, choose “Other” in the drop-down menu and then enter $0. \n\n\n\n \n \n \n\n\n\n\nIN-PERSON PROGRAM  \n\n\n\nTweeting\, chirping\, fluttering\, squawking and singing. Hopping\, perching\, soaring\, landing and wading. Spring is here and so is the endlessly entertaining and educational business of birds. Join us for our monthly bird walk\, Birds of a Feather! This month\, nature photographer and treasured SPES volunteer Frank Lin takes us on a relaxed\, interpretive walk to spot and identify local birds with our eyes and ears. All experience and knowledge levels are welcome – just bring your curiosity and love of birds!  \n\n\n\nWe are proud to include this program in our Vancouver Bird Celebration events. Check out our other free events from May 14 to May 29 and get excited about birds with us!  \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nThis program will meet at the Nature House on Lost Lagoon (located near the intersection of Alberni and Chilco Street\, underneath the viewing platform). Please arrive 15 minutes early to complete a health check.   \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nMasks are mandatory for the indoor portion of this program and optional for the outdoor portion.  \n\n\n\n   \n\n\n\nAccessibility note: We will be moving on some uneven surfaces and moderate inclines around Lost Lagoon\, for up to 1.5 hours. If you have any questions about accessibility\, please email Anna at publiced@stanleyparkecology.ca.    \n\n\n\n   \n\n\n\n***This program is weather dependent.  Please check your email 12 hours before the program date/time to confirm it has not been cancelled due to inclement weather such as high winds\, heavy rain or extreme heat. Please dress appropriately for the weather.  \n\n\n\n   \n\n\n\n   \n\n\n\n*By purchasing a ticket\, you are agreeing to complete the following health check at the start of your program.   \n\n\n\n    \n\n\n\n**All participants must pre-register for this program – NO DROP-INS ARE ALLOWED.  Fees for this program are based on a sliding scale – you choose what you pay!        \n\n\n\n    \n\n\n\n****Program full or you can’t attend this day/time?  Sign up here to be notified if this program runs again in the future!          \n\n\n\n        \n\n\n\n*****Cancellation policy – We are accommodating refunds for cancellations due to illness to keep everyone healthy\, but the number of recent cancellations is impacting our capacity to run these programs. If you must cancel\, please let us know if you need a refund or if you are able to help us offer affordable programs for the public (we will continue to seek ways of subsidizing programs in this changing economic climate as well!)          \n\n\n\n        \n\n\n\nWe gratefully acknowledge that the land on which we gather and help steward is the unceded and traditional territories of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam)\, Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish) Nation\, and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nation. Since time immemorial\, Coast Salish peoples have lived reciprocally with the land\, harvesting and cultivating foods and medicines and practicing ceremony. The abundance of these lands and waters\, which enables us to live\, work\, and play here today\, is a result of the past and on-going stewardship and advocacy of the Coast Salish peoples.
