IN-PERSON WORKSHOP
Calling all bird-lovers, artists, the craft-curious, and anyone else who wants to spend a spring Saturday morning painting in Stanley Park! Join us for a bright, beginner-friendly, and bird-themed watercolour workshop this spring during the Greater Vancouver Bird Celebration. Our instructor, Jenna Leith, will introduce several basic watercolour techniques, guiding you as you bring avian scenes to life on paper, such as a beautiful black-capped chickadee!
No prior experience is needed—just curiosity and a love for creativity. All materials are provided, and you’ll leave with finished paintings and skills to continue your watercolour journey at home.

ABOUT THE GREATER VANCOUVER BIRD CELEBRATION
Get more familiar with the birds around us during the Greater Vancouver Bird Celebration! Organized by a collection of non-profits, artists, and other institutions, the Celebration is a two-week series of events to appreciate the bird species of Greater Vancouver. This program will take place at the Stanley Park Pavilion at the Stanley Park Ecology office (610 Pipeline Rd) on the second floor in the Salmonberry Room. Please arrive 5-10 minutes early to check-in.
Terms and Conditions
(1) Registration required - NO DROP-INS ARE ALLOWED. Fees for this program are based on a sliding scale – reduced fees are available for those with financial barriers.
(2) Cancellation policy – We offer partial refunds for program fees up to 14 days before the program. A 20% administration fee applies. Cancellations with less than the required notice are non-refundable. We do not refund fees for late or missed programs. Please request a refund by emailing publiced@stanleyparkecology.ca. You may also choose to support our public education programming by donating your registration fee.
(3) Weather – Rarely, programs may be postponed or cancelled due extreme weather like high winds or extreme heat. We will alert you by email if the program needs to be rescheduled. If the program cannot be rescheduled, refunds will be offered with a 20% administration fee or you may choose to transfer your ticket to another program of the same value.
