See birds like great blue herons\, red-tailed hawks\, and belted kingfishers while meeting new people and sharing in the outdoors. \n\n\n\nThis program will meet at the Stanley Park Nature House on Lost Lagoon. Please try to arrive at least 10 minutes in advance of the program. \n\n\n\nBirding with Me is a part of the Vancouver Bird Celebration and organized collaboratively by Stanley Park Ecology Society and various partners from the Pacific Birds Habitat Joint Venture\, including the Canadian Wildlife Service and Birds Canada. \n\n\n\nCheck out other free programs happening during the Vancouver Bird Celebration from May 13 to May 31 to get excited about birds! \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nAbout Your Bird Guide \n\n\n\nRémi Torrenta (he/him) is the British Columbia Projects Coordinator at Birds Canada\, and passionate about anything related to wildlife and wilderness adventures. After getting his Ph.D. in forest bird ecology in eastern Canada\, he worked as a Field Biologist\, Naturalist Guide and Research Scientist\, before moving to the West Coast. Rémi has a strong conviction that conservation goals are better achieved through education and Citizen Science programs \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nAbout “Birding with Me” Series \n\n\n\nCome Birding with Me and learn about our local birds on free\, guided bird walks that celebrate diversity in bird and human communities. Inspired by the National Audubon Society’s Let’s Go Birding Together series\, Birding with Me walks welcome in members of different communities led by experts of shared identity to explore birding together and meet new people. Check out the Birding with Me webpage for all events. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nProgram Details \n\n\n\nAccessibility notes: This program requires moving at a moderate pace with moderate inclines on some uneven surfaces around Lost Lagoon (such as gravel and pavement) for up to 1.5 hours. If you have any questions about accessibility\, please email Anna at publiced@stanleyparkecology.ca      \n\n\n\n      \n\n\n\nThis program will meet at the Nature House on Lost Lagoon (located near the intersection of Alberni and Chilco Street\, underneath the viewing platform) and proceed to Cathedral Trail. Since time immemorial\, Coast Salish peoples have lived reciprocally with the land\, harvesting and cultivating foods and medicines and practicing ceremony. The abundance of these lands and waters\, which enables us to live\, work\, and play here today\, is a result of the past and on-going stewardship and advocacy of the Coast Salish peoples.
