SUMMARY:Birding With Me: para la comunidad hispanohablante
DESCRIPTION:Register on Eventbrite\n\n\nWALK\n\n\n\nLed by Ana González and Christopher Di Corrado\, this walk will introduce you to the birds found at Stanley Park. \n\n\n\nThis program will meet at the Stanley Park Nature House on Lost Lagoon. Please try to arrive at least 15 minutes in advance of the program. \n\n\n\nCheck out the Birding with Me series webpage to see all the events! \n\n\n\nAbout your Bird Guides \n\n\n\nAna González – I was born and raised in the country with the highest diversity of birds in the world\, and my love for birds combined with an ever-growing fascination for bird migration brought me to Canada over 10 years ago. I´m currently working for the Environment and Climate Change Canada Wildlife Research Division. I am super excited to discover with you some of the birds that\, like some of us\, spend their lives between North America and Latin America. \n\n\n\nChristopher Di Corrado – I’m a bird-nerd\, biologist\, and wildlife guide presently spending nearly 8-months of the year working for the Canadian Wildlife Service conducting marine bird surveys off the coast of British Columbia. When I’m not doing that\, I may be guiding in Ecuador or Antarctica! I’ll be very glad to be on solid ground to help search for birds with you and make new friends. I grew up in Ontario\, and have moved around\, and travelled through South America where I learned Spanish- and I’m still learning! I look forward to see you and practicing Spanish! \n\n\n\nBirding with Me is a part of the Vancouver Bird Celebration and organized collaboratively by Stanley Park Ecology Society\, Canadian Wildlife Service\, Birds Canada\, and the BC Bird Trail. Thank you so much to the Port of Vancouver for funding this series. \n\n\n\nThis program will follow approved COVID protocols\, and attendees must respect these protocols to participate in the program. All participants must pre-register. To make everyone comfortable\, we will encourage distancing and will be keeping numbers low to accommodate this. \n\n\n\n*By purchasing a ticket\, you are confirming you have read\, understood\, and agree to follow all COVID-19 protocols found here. Participants must include a telephone number and email address for contact tracing.  \n\n\n\n**All participants must pre-register for this program – NO DROP-INS ARE ALLOWED.  \n\n\n\nWe gratefully acknowledge that the land on which we gather and help steward is the unceded and traditional territories of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam)\, Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish) Nation\, and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nation. Since time immemorial\, Coast Salish peoples have lived reciprocally with the land\, harvesting and cultivating foods and medicines and practicing ceremony. The abundance of these lands and waters\, which enables us to live\, work\, and play here today\, is a result of the past and on-going stewardship and advocacy of the Coast Salish peoples. \n\n\n\nPhoto: Liron Gertsman
