SUMMARY:Birding with Me: Queer Pals and Feathered Friends
DESCRIPTION:Register on Eventbrite\n\n\nWALK\n\n\n\nLed by Wildlife Educator Jaylen Bastos\, this walk will introduce you to the birds found in Stanley Park. See birds like great blue herons\, red-tailed hawks\, and belted kingfishers while meeting new people and sharing in the outdoors. \n\n\n\nThis program will meet at the Stanley Park Nature House on Lost Lagoon. Please try to arrive at least 15 minutes in advance of the program. \n\n\n\nCheck out the Birding with Me series webpage to see all the events! \n\n\n\nAbout your Bird Guide \n\n\n\nJaylen (They/them) : J is an urban wildlife ecologist who specializes in animal behavior and cognition. They are queer\, non-binary\, Black and Latinx and work to bring the intersections of their identity into their research\, community building and advocacy work respectively. In 2021 they launched Zoboomafoolish.Co. an educational organization that provides urban ecology training and learning opportunities for youth and adults in the City of Vancouver. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nBirding with Me is a part of the Vancouver Bird Celebration and organized collaboratively by Stanley Park Ecology Society\, Canadian Wildlife Service\, Birds Canada\, and the BC Bird Trail. Thank you so much to the Port of Vancouver for funding this series. \n\n\n\nThis program will follow approved COVID protocols\, and attendees must respect these protocols to participate in the program. All participants must pre-register. To make everyone comfortable\, we will encourage distancing and will be keeping numbers low to accommodate this. \n\n\n\n*By purchasing a ticket\, you are confirming you have read\, understood\, and agree to follow all COVID-19 protocols found here.
