DROP-IN EVENT
Get ready to immerse yourself in nature and contribute to community science! Bring your smartphone and join us in competing with cities across North America to collect the most observations of wildlife and plants. Explore the forest surrounding Beaver Lake while using the iNaturalist app.
Don’t worry if you’re not an expert – no species identification knowledge is required! We’ll have staff and volunteers available to help with some species identification, including experts from the Entomological Society of BC, the Beaty Biodiversity Museum at UBC, and more. No registration is required.
This event is part of the City Nature Challenge hosted in partnership with the Fraser River Discovery Centre, the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County, and the California Academy of Sciences. Let’s explore, discover, and celebrate the biodiversity of our region together.
You can download iNaturalist here.
