Dannie PiezasAugust 26th, 2016
Hailing from the Philippine tropics, Dannie carries the experience of birds and geckos in the house and camping in the rainforest. Her love for living things flourished in the move to Canada through UBC’s Natural Resource Conservation program, watching salmon runs with school kids, bird surveys in Ladner, fending off polar bears in the high Arctic, and all manner of invasive species wrangling in between. She has a strong background in nature interpretation and believes anyone can connect to nature in a personal way, and she continues to explore the role of conservation in building strong and vibrant communities.
Dannie joined SPES in 2016 and is thankful for the grandest workplace in the world. In her spare time, she devours books, undoes yarn knots, studies creation care theology, and learns obscure martial arts.
