Legacy of Trees:
Caring for Vancouver’s Parks, Yards, and Boulevards
by
Nina Shoroplova
author of Legacy of Trees: Purposeful Wandering in Vancouver’s Stanley Park
Ariane Comeau, SPES’s Conservation Projects Manager, is pleased to welcome author Nina Shoroplova as our keynote speaker this year! From her new book, “Legacy of Trees”, Nina will identify Vancouver’s “heritage” trees planted over a century ago and consider how we can best support trees in artificial contexts like city parks, yards and boulevards.
Nina’s presentation will kick off SPES’s new year-long series of public presentations focused on “Caring for Natural Places in Urban Spaces.” Join us over the next 12 months to hear a diversity of voices ranging from scientists, urban planners and knowledge holders of the land – sharing best practices for supporting the ecological health of natural spaces in urban places, including Stanley Park and beyond.
Please RSVP for the AGM ZOOM session:
