The sun shone and the Earth smiled: a happy crowd of visitors, volunteers, donors and dignitaries enjoyed a scrumptious chocolate birthday cake and Earth Day activities at our April 21st Earth Day Birthday event!
Special thanks to Park Board Chair Stuart Mackinnon for his welcome and rousing “Happy Birthday” song! Huge kudos to TD Friends of the Environment for their presentation of a $16,687.73 cheque to support our new Mobile Learning Station (a nature house on wheels), and endless thanks for the volunteers who planted trees and shrubs in Stanley Park that day. We’d also like to acknowledge Stanley Park Brewing, Invasive Species Council of Metro Vancouver, and EartHand Gleaners for their contributions to the event and their ongoing support of our conservation work in Stanley Park.
It’s not too late to give SPES and Stanley Park a birthday gift! Please donate here to support conservation and education in Stanley Park, Vancouver’s largest urban forest.
