A Poem for the Park

On a warm April day, a poem appeared in chalk on the pavement above the Stanley Park Nature House. Whimsical chalk-drawn birds led readers down the steps to the nature house itself. The elusive poet, Marten Sims (husband to SPES Volunteer Coordinator, Julie) commissioned artist Corrina Keeling http://www.lovelettersforeverybody.ca/ to transcribe his creation on our doorstep.

We have recreated it here, with Marten’s permission, for your enjoyment:

Walk around the

SKIES

Reflection

Stroll the middens

Buried

DEEP

Rediscover

Your WILD heart

In this

LOST SEA

& return with

Warmed

Wings

To the hidden

House of

NATURE
