Every month, staff and countless volunteers from Stanley Park Ecology Society (SPES) survey birds on Lost Lagoon and Beaver Lake. On Sunday June 10, 2012, the team spotted several new species since the previous month, including cedar waxwing, pied-billed grebe and warbling vireo.
With the breeding season in full swing, the Park is alive with song and activity from dawn to dusk. You can see the complete results of the bird count here.
We are looking for more volunteer bird monitors to help out. If you enjoy bird-watching and are interested in joining the team, read more here.
