VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY : For high school students only
This special event between SPES’ School Programs and Conservation departments offers volunteers an opportunity to conducting terrestrial assessment. The goal is to involve keen high school students into the forest research we conduct in Stanley Park and give them experience in ecology. For this event, the participants will conduct vegetation assessment at selected sites, in blowdown and non-blowdown areas. The data collected will create a baseline on general forest health and permit us to see how it changes over the years.
This event is funded by NSERC’s PromoScience Program: Working with young Canadians to promote an understanding of science and engineering (including mathematics and technology).
