Register today for the 2015 Christmas Bird Count for Kids in Stanley Park!
The adventure begins with an indoor session including learning about birds and how to identify them and practice using binoculars.
Then we head outdoors! Each participant (and accompanying parent) will be part of a small birding team, led by an experienced birder, and will conduct a 1-1.5 hour bird survey in Stanley Park recording the number of bird species and individuals seen.
After the survey, all teams will re-group for lunch (bring your own) and we’ll tally up the bird numbers and compare sightings!
Location: Stanley Park (meet at the Heron Room upstairs in the Stanley Park Dining Pavilion)
Date: Saturday December 12th, 2015 9:30 am-1:30 pm
This family program is suitable for children ages 6-12 and children must be accompanied by an adult (parent, grandparent or guardian)
