The Special Invasive Removal Team (SIRT)

Join the team that know Stanley Park like the back of their… shovels! The Special Invasive Removal Team are dedicated volunteers who complete important year-round invasive plant removal work in special areas of the Park. As a SIRT member, you will:

  • Learn about local ecology and the important role of invasive plant management and stewardship in Stanley Park
  • Be an active environmental steward in one of Canada’s most beautiful parks
  • Contribute directly to long-term invasive plant management projects
  • Grow your skills and meet other like minded volunteers in your community!

This program typically runs every Monday and Wednesday from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., and all volunteers 16 and older are welcome to join. Eager volunteers younger than 16 and groups larger than 5 people will need permission from the program leader.
