Marisa Nichini

Marisa is a communications and education consultant with a keen interest in the natural world. She is a lifelong learner and enjoys storytelling and teaching. Marisa earned her undergraduate degree in biology from the University of Western Ontario and her Masters of Arts in science education from UBC. Her early career with a regional airline gave her the opportunity to see many parts of beautiful B.C. from the air and the ground. She spent eight years at the Vancouver Aquarium – first as a volunteer, then as an educator, and made her transition to communications and public relations work while there. Thereafter, Marisa held a senior communications role in health care for 15 years and was recognized for issues management, media relations and strategic planning skills. A dedicated parent, she believes it’s important to instill the next generation with a sense of wonder to help them value nature, respect one another, and understand the need to be good stewards of our world.
